Seventh Sunday of Pentecost
*CALL TO WORSHIP
L: Come away, disciples of Christ, and rest from your labors.
C: We are weary from our work.
L: Come away, disciples of Christ, and leave the demands of
the crowds.
C: There are always more who need our help.
All: We too love the sheep, but need our own renewal. We too
need to hear anew the teachings of Jesus, to give us strength
for the journey.
* OPENING HYMN "Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord
God Almighty" UMH 64
*APOSTLES' CREED/Unison (Affirmation of Faith)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; Who was conceived by
the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;
the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven,
and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from
thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe
in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Universal Church; the communion of
saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen.
JOYS & CONCERNS/PRAYER/Lord's Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not
into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom,
and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen
HYMNS OF PRAISE. "O Happy Day, That Fixed
My Choice" UMH 391 v. 1 & 5
PRAYER OF CONFESSION/Unison (2 Samuel 7, Psalm 89, Ephesians
2, Mark 6)
O God, the rock of our salvation, your faithfulness is as constant
as the north star. But your holiness frightens us-for the justice
of your love. Like David before us, we would rather build you
a temple and keep you sasfely in one place than have you ove about
with us in a tabernacle and be everywhere we go. We believe you
are loving us now. Amen
HYMN "Glorious
Thing of Thee Are Spoken" UMH 731 v. 1 & 4

89:25-33" Bert Glanville

- Stewardship of thanksgiving and Service (Offering).
- Steward of Prayer/Unison (2 Samuel 7, Ephesians 2, Mark
6)
"God of steadfast love; You bless your people in ways
beyond measure and lead us to become shepherds for others, even
as Jesus is our shepherd. Bless our tithes and offerings, that
they may be signs of or worthiness as to be members of your household
with the great saints that have gone before us. Amen.
* DOXOLOGY:

BENEDICTION
The Old differences have died away. Christ has made us one.
The arguments have lost their appeal. Christ has brought us joy
in peace. We don't worry about tomorrow, because you are loving
us today and tomorrow. Now the light of the Christ is going into
the world.
THE LIGHT OF CHRIST IS TAKEN TO THE WORLD
