* Invocation (Ruth C. Duck in Touch Holiness p. 44)
Holy God, we come before you with awe, for you are great in
love and power.
Some of us come with reluctance, and some with joy, some with
sadness, and others full of fear, yet we know you receive us
as we are.
Touch us, God, with your healing fire. Speak to us through
your word.
Send us back into the world renewed and eager to do your will.
For we pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
God Calls Us to Share
Preparation for giving (from Touch Holiness)
We pray to you Creator God, that in our giving we may give
forth new life. We pray to you Christ, that in our giving we
may be deeply rooted in this life, yet draw our life from you.
We pray to you Holy Spirit, that we may soar beyond the possibilities
we see in our giving. O God, the Triune One, we pray that we
may give so that your life and love is made real in us. Amen

*Prayer of Thanksgiving
O God it is by your righteousness that we are made righteous,
it is by your holiness that we can be holy. It is only as we
become one with you that our thinking and our lives become like
Jesus' life. Thank you that you make that possible for us by
the power of your word and Holy Spirit. We ask now that you bless
these gifts and offerings which we return to you that they may
be a blessing in the world. We pray Lord that they may be used
not just to keep the doors of the church open, but to feed the
hungry, to clothe the naked and to fulfill your commission to
go into all the world. Amen.

Lord's Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power
and the glory forever. Amen.
Prayer Response On Eagle's Wings UMH 143
And God will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of God's hand.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting
God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired
or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. Isaiah 40:28
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of
the weak. Isaiah 40:29
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and
fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow
weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30-31
On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you
are in me, and I am in you. John 14:20
