to become new people!

of the spirit has enkindled in us a love for God and each other.
L: Come here in faithfulness and be ready for the surprises
that God's Spirit brings.
P: We open our lives to the presence of God and trust God's
promise to us that we can live new lives of freedom and grace.
May God help us to be true people of spirit, letting holy surprises

Sharing Life in Christ
Prayer of Confession (Maren C. Tirabassi in Touch Holiness
p. 111)
O Holy God, we come in confession for our lack of love. We
have neither loved ourselves nor our neighbors. We have passed
by suffering and misfortune bcause of fear or busyness or preoccupation.
We have help prejudices against people as deep as those against
the Samaritans. Heal our pains, amend our faults, and guide us
in ways of danger and compassion, for we pray in the name of
Jesus, our most beloved neighbor, who cared for us even to the
cross. Amen.
Silent, personal confession
Words of affirmation and comfort
L: This is the message we have heard from God and proclaim
to you, that God is light and in God there is no darkness at
all. If we walk in the light, as God is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus the Son cleanses
us from all sin. In the name of Jesus Christ your sins are forgiven
P: In the name of Jesus Christ your sins are forgiven
All: Thanks be to God. Amen.

Prayers of the People
Lord's Prayer:
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom
come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this
day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power
and the glory forever. Amen.
Prayer Response Sweet, Sweet Spirit UMH 334
There's a sweet, sweet Spirit in this place,
and I know that it's the Spirit of the Lord;
there are sweet expressions on each face,
and I know they feel the presence of the Lord.
Sweet Holy Spirit, sweet heavenly Dove,
stay right here with us, filling us with your love;
and for these blessings we lift our hearts in praise;
without a doubt we'll know that we have been revived
when we shall leave this place.

*Prayer of Thanksgiving
We trust, O God in your mercy and forgiveness, we believe
in your grace. We live in the hope that life beyond the present
life is life in its fullness. For all of these things, most gracious
God, we give you thanks. We thank you that you gave yourself
to us in Jesus, that we might have one to show us the way to
live and die and be raised to eternal life. We thank you that
you have sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within and among us so
that we are never alone but that you are always present with
us in power. We ask now that you would bless these, our tithes
and offerings, that they may be used for your kingdom's glory.
Amen.

An Order of Farewell
L: I thank you, the members and friends of Bazaar United Methodist
Church , for the love and support you have shown me while I have
ministered among you. I am grateful for the ways my leadership
has been accepted. I ask forgiveness for the mistakes I have
made. As I leave, I carry with me all that I have learned here.
P: We receive your thankfulness, Offer forgiveness, and accept
that you now leave to minister elsewhere. We express our gratitude
for your time among us. We ask your forgiveness for our mistakes.
Your influence on our faith and faithfulness will not leave us
with your departure.
L: I accept your gratitude and forgiveness, and I forgive
you, trusting that our time together and our parting are pleasing
to God. I release you from turning to me and depending on me.
I encourage your continuing ministry here and will pray for you
and for your new pastor, Young-Gil Bahng. Let us pray.
Going Forth to Live in Christ
*Benediction
Lectionary readings for next week:
2 Samuel 1:1, 17-27
Psalm 30
2 Corinthians 8:7-15
Mark 5:21-43
Passages for Lectio Divina:
On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus.
"Teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit
eternal life?"
"What is written in the Law?" he replied. "How
do you read it?"
He answered, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your
heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with
all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
"You have answered correctly," Jesus replied. "Do
this and you will live." Luke 10:25-28
"Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to
the man who fell into the hands of robbers?"
The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy
on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise." Luke 10:37-38
